LAS VEGAS (November 30, 2010) – Bruce Buffer, known internationally as the Octagon announcer for the UFC and the “Voice of MMA,” has been tapped once again to introduce the $50,000 final game at the upcoming 6th annual World Series of Beer PongTM (WSOBP VI). Buffer’s distinctive voice will kick off the main event of the evening at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Jan. 4, 2011.
No stranger to the competition, Buffer will return for a third year in a row to announce the action at the final table of the World Series of Beer Pong. Joining him will be more than 900 participants from 45 states, five Canadian provinces and six countries, as well as thousands of spectators, all anticipating the crowning of the title of World Champion.
Mr. Buffer is an ideal fit to announce the World Series of Beer Pong, due both to the competitive nature of the event and the demographic overlap between beer pong fans and some of the other popular sporting events that he announces, including Mixed Martial Arts and the World Series of Poker.
“We’re pleased to have Mr. Buffer back this year,” said WSOBP co-founder Billy Gaines. “There’s already so much excitement leading up to the World Series of Beer Pong’s main event, when you add Mr. Buffer’s distinctive, energetic voice to the mix, there’s just an electricity you can’t describe unless you’re there in person!”
Players interested in registering for the WSOBP VI have until Dec. 10, 2010 to register online at www.bpong.com. Player packages start at $500. All packages are priced per person and include a four-night hotel stay and entrance into the WSOBP VI.
Beer pong fans who can’t swing the entrance fee or spare a full four nights in Vegas can still catch the action with a spectator pass. One-day passes are priced at $25 and 3-day passes are $60. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.bpong.com/wsobpspectator or onsite, just outside the Sunset Ballroom on the third floor of the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. Spectator passes will be available from 11 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2011, until the final beer pong ball has been thrown and Mr. Buffer presents the $50,000 check to the winning team on evening of January 4.
