yeah we’re soft… tard… we always practice on tables at a certain height, and an inch and a half of height is a big difference. if u played often enough or were good enough, you’d get it…
February 17, 2009 at 5:40 pm #19967I would love to have regulation tables. The only thing is he had those tables made and he based them off of pong a long tables which are 29" high. I told his to make them 27.5" but he ddin’t listen. Basically what im getting at is he bought 6 tables for $200 each. I wouldn’t want to piss him off and bring in other tables. He is the kind of guy that would see that as a slap in the face. As for the cups, next time will will have the wsobp cups.
seriously, people are actually complaing about tables being an inch and a half taller……you kids on the west coast sound soft.
what kind of cups were used?
As for the cups I just picked up clear 16oz at smart and final. They had a little lip, but nothing to major. We had world series cups on the way, however they didn’t make it in time for some reason.

Damn it, not another dumbass who just joined BPONG today and already feels the need to post stupid and contentious shit. Here is the deal: when everyone has been playing on a certain type of table (WSOBP for example) it is going to affect people in different ways when a new kind of table is used. Case in point: in the Stanford league they use ping-pong tables that are 9′ long and 30" high. In the semifinals last year these tables weren’t available and a table had to be used that was the same length but maybe 2" higher than usual. 3 of the 4 players were fine with it but one player had a really flat shot and was shooting horribly. He complained that it was the table, and finally after his team was down 3-0 in a 7-game series they were able to move to a new table that was about 2" lower than usual. The guy with the flat shot was lights out on the lower table. They made a huge comeback and almost won the series.
Some people’s shots are more adaptable to higher, lower, shorter, or longer tables. When I retired from the Stanford league and started playing WSOBP rules last year my shot that worked well on the 9-footer wasn’t so great on the shorter, lower WSOBP tables and I had to totally rework it over a couple of months. It’s weak to complain about table dimensions at a house party, but in tournaments where cash or WSOBP entry is at stake you’re damn right I want to play on a standard table.
Amateur.

No I didn’t say you’re new to the game, I just said you lack intelligence and are probably an awful player. Obviously we have no good players out west. Chauffeuring the Fat Kid, who lives in San Diego, won this small, insignificant tournament that you’ve probably never heard of called WSOBP III, but I’m sure the competition level there was nowhere near as good as at the house parties where you supposedly dominate.
Play in ONE tournament that matters and then come on here and talk.

yeah, come on Dam… didn’t you read above that this dude has his own "WSOBP table" and also his own "8×3 custom table with built in water cups and shit" AND he plays in lots of "tournaments with official tables and regular house partys with unofficial tables." He is obviously more hardcore than us westerners… we have got this guy all wrong…
