I have a question about Spectators fee. It seems a little too much. What if Spectators want to stay in a different hotel, will there be a cheaper price to enter and watch the tournament?August 7, 2006 at 8:08 pm #1762hey man you think 225 is to expensive for a 4 night stay in a room in nevada??? that is only 56.25 a night.. you cant get a holiday inn for that price

I think the hotels actually go down to $30-40 a night there
August 7, 2006 at 8:17 pm #1764hey there,
I have a question about Spectators fee. It seems a little too much. What if Spectators want to stay in a different hotel, will there be a cheaper price to enter and watch the tournament?Anybody that is 21+ is welcome to come to the event for free (or possibly a slight at-the-door charge (like a couple bucks) – probably no charge, but if the place gets packed, we may need to charge something for increased security costs) and book a hotel on his/her own. This "spectator" price that we are offering, however, includes everything except the tournament, which means besides the hotel stay, "spectators" that buy the package online will also get any food that the participants get (amount still TBD, but there will be food at least once per day) and entry into any other events (such as bands) that may be available only to those that sign up for the "spectator" or participant package. If you do not want to be involved in these other things, you are more than welcome to just stop by.
August 7, 2006 at 10:19 pm #1765so they get the food that we get if they sign up
do spectators get beer too then, since thats included in our registration price?** edit: nevermind I just read the front page and see that it isn’t

No, the beer included in the price is for the tournament games only, and since the beer that is included in the price is only beer for tournament games … they don’t get any beer. I don’t know prices yet, but the beer that everybody can buy will be relatively cheap (probably $1-2 for a 16 oz. draft, roughly).
August 7, 2006 at 10:48 pm #1767damn I wish I could get that kind of price on draft out here.
August 8, 2006 at 1:32 am #1768so, for players beer is included in sign-up price, right?
the reason I asked about spectators is because I might bring my girlfriend and she only wants to hang out and watch my games, if she can get in for free or a little fee that’s great, I am looking forward to that.
btw, a little off topic… anyone knows how many people already signed up and what’s the limit of sign-ups? I am a little tight on money to sign-up now but I’ll be doing it in a month or so

September 7, 2006 at 4:55 am #1770My girlfriend is going to be coming with me and she is under 21…She just couldn’t pass up New Years in Vegas…Is there anyway she could get in to watch my games with a "STRAIT_EDGE" stamp>

Absolutely not. Sorry to sound/be so harsh, but that is the policy and I want to make it absolutely clear that there are no exceptions. Not only is it our policy, it is also the policy for the casino (and not just the casino’s policy for this event; it’s their policy that you must be 21+ to check into the casino).
I just want to make this policy 100% clear so people do not show up and get turned away. It happened last year to a guy that was most likely 21 but did not have what the casino’s risk management person considered adequate ID, and he was sent away.
If you are under 21 on January 1, 2007, DO NOT SHOW UP.
September 7, 2006 at 7:56 am #1772Thanks man for getting back to me so quick…Yeah she will probally still come just for the New Years Aspect.. Look forward to seeing you in a couple months
