Custom Table Gallery

This 8x3 table started out as a small weekend project. Initially, I wanted to make a foldable floater that would fit in my trunk for parties, but as the project grew I abandoned that idea and made it into full blown table.

Instead of taking the easy route, buying a table and painting it, or just taking the hinges off a door, I built this out of sealed laminate flooring, square tile, peg board, carpet runner for trim and a whole lot of other accessories. Having no experience constructing anything like this before, I made a lot of trips to Home Depot over the course of a month and ended up with enough supplies left over to probably make another one. To keep it stable, I added support beams, screwed on banquet table legs and a devised locking mechanism that creates a perfectly level playing surface while opened. The double hinged center is made out of an oak door threshold. Its rock solid with the 2x2”center supports, the silicon sealed bumpers help fend off “hard throwers”. It has blue tile on one side and green on the other with cup holders to match. It folds and locks for portability and on one edge it reads “BEIRUT: HERO’S ARE MADE ONE CUP AT A TIME…”

Total cost $82.74

Our two beer pong tables.  The beer bottle cap table contains about 4000 caps.  The Sigma Pi is made of Heineken and outlined in Yuengling.  Miller Lite surrounds the Letters.  The four triangles are made of Sam Adams, Blue Moon, Rolling Rock, and Corona caps.

It took us a couple hundred dollars worth of materials, ten hours of painting and three coats of lacquer to finish this impressive table. It folds in the middle, and is regulation size.

This longhorn table (complete with cupholders) got more action than Vince Young himself after that rose bowl.  Hook'em.

This table is all hand painted on a 8' X 4' peice of composite board.  We used all high gloss paint and about 8 layers of water based polyurethane.  The table represented Sig Ep's New York NU chapter and the two pledge classes that worked on this table being AO and APi.  Sig Ep- Getting our BALLS wet since 1901.

Floating 8 x 3ft table with individual cup holders for rough seas. An anchor system comprised of chain and weights comes down from either end to keep the table still in the pool with adjustable depths from 2-6 feet. We used this baby on Auburn's spring break down in Destin, FL.

This table is 30" by 90" and is made of 5/8 particle board. It took myself and three friends 42 hours over 5 days to paint the whole table. And everything on the table is indeed painted, no stickers or anything like that. The table is an exact replica of the University of Toledo Glass Bowl Stadium. Further the table is covered with 1/8 plexi for protection. We also added a 20" blue neon under the table and two 12" colc cathode tubes to the shooting areas. A small switch on the wall is for a blindingly bright construction flasher we use to get new players to the table. All in all this table was a blast to build and plays great.

We built it in about a day and it cost about $125. It's portable and is made of 2 boxes made of plywood and plexiglass connected by a piano hinge. Both ends have a 12" blacklight and the floor of the table has some blacklight paint in it. It folds in the middle and snaps shut with locks for easy transport. The
glass slides off to allow storage of cups, balls, and legs, too.

We built this from scratch. Me and a buddy had to but a regulation size piece of wood and cut it to size. Along with alot of measuring and painting we came up with this nice design.

A tourney was held to raise the money so that we could repaint our poor table.  But now that it got a make-over it's definitly the talk of the town.  As it lives just outside of Big Rapids, it's a prime spot to see who is the best at Ferris State University.  Who wants some?  Challengers welcome.
