i think shoot till you miss is an awful rule...thats why you end up with 789 ot's its a team game so if your teamate misses the game should be over shoot till you miss is making the game more of an individual game, if you dont miss you can't lose for a single play that is not how a team game should be played.

I just think it made for more of an exciting big tournament in AC, I really didn't notice excessive 3+ OT games or any delays.

We had a couple 3 or 4 OT games, not too mention a 13 OT game. You don't see that with WSOBP rules. You didn't see delays in AC because in round robin they didn't have rounds set at specific times (instead it seek out teams on your schedule and play at your discretion) and during elimination play there were long breaks in between rounds.

13OT wtf? who was playing? yea i guess bpong rules are the best in the end

  • On Elimination Day in AC we had our last game go to 3 OT, it was b/c of that whole double bagging rule....

  • I agree that the tournament should have stayed in Atlantic City. I enjoyed it a lot. There seemed like there was much less pressure and pretty much everyone was just having fun. Everyone got to dick around and play with people they'd never get the chance to play with. It was almost like an All-Star game and a great way to break up the wait between World Series.

I really can't speak for anyone else, but the fact that any tournament is held in Vegas isn't really a big deal for me. Usually I'm so focused on beer pong that I don't really do a whole lot of gambling anyway. I've done the whole Vegas thing a few times so the location isn't as much the attraction to me as the tournament is. I mean, it's cool to be in Vegas, but when you wake up at 8 a.m. and start pounding beers you're going to have a crazy time no matter where you are. The only difference between Vegas at 2 a.m. and AC at 2 a.m. is that, besides not being a complete shithole, you can find someone to eat on the Strip.

As a matter of fact, I did have luck with a nice young woman named Esha. Baker and Austin will confirm. I liked her style.

It was our round of 16 match. I believe the team we faced was Team Draino (not 100% sure). I do know they took out Get Your Popcorn Ready in the round of 32.

As for AC vs. Vegas, I'm sure all the East Coasters would have preferred if it stayed in AC. Everyone else would likely rather have it in Vegas.

Piotr, it's well documented West Coast teams don't travel well. It's completely understandable, but bullshit in my opinion. East Coast teams have to spend ~$400+ for airfare to Vegas and a lot of West Coast teams can drive there. We still show up strong. There were very few West Coast teams that came to AC.

Why can't they come here for once?

First of all, I totally agree with you about the Vegas thing, Barnes. I don't really care about the location myself. And as I said initially, I really wish it stayed in AC. It was a great time and more importantly, well within driving distance and affordable.

Also, Esha was eating out of the palm of your hand. I can confirm that. She seemed so refreshed to see such a strong, take-charge, young white man patronizing her eatery. Frankly, I'm surprised she didn't give you an extra piece of french bread pizza on the house.

  • New Orleans would be a good middle point for the WPT tourny. Or maybe it should rotate around to different cities.

That's something you have to ask them... I live in the Midwest and was at both events. I do believe that a ton more West Coast teams would have made a trip to AC this time around. Not only is the prize money double, but many teams were sceptical last year how the initial event would pan out - that is not an issue anymore.

I can definitely understand the frustration of all the East Coast teams. If I had a large tourney around the corner and it got moved, I would be pissed as well.

Only time will tell if moving the tourney was a smart business decision on part of the WBPT. They obviously moved it because they believe Vegas is a better draw than AC. For the serious beer pong players (Barnes, Baker) location doesn't matter as much since they are mainly focused on the event itself. However, you can't deny that recreational players are more likely to come out to an event if it's in a desirable location and IMO Vegas easily trumps AC...
