  • Yep, I'm done. After a battered ball on a Saturday BSSC football game I have learned that I'm out for the year in beer pong. As I was going up for a ball on a 4th and goal play on defense my fright index finger got jammed and broke. I did finish the game out and even played a series on offense. I even played the Essex tourney after that and got 3rd place amazingly.
     
    I already knew it was broken as I went to the hospital and the x-ray said it was broken. Today I've learned from my hand doctor that I need surgery to repair the bone. As the doc said it's a "bad injury." I have surgery next week. It sucks. I also have to cancel my Vegas trip for next week.
     
    I will make sure to show my face to league nights and tournaments. Maybe even try to get back in the game throwing lefty underhand as I mastered that in the summer league.
     
    I wish Good Luck to everyone, especially Jeff Barnes as I hope he finds success with a new partner. Hopefully he captures the Canton league as well as many other tournaments.
     
    This is a devastating blow. It sucks. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.

  • Wow, Adam. That's a pretty shitty break, no pun intended. First the mace incident and now a football injury? You could probably beat people with your underhand lob again if need be...

    For what it's worth I feel honored to have lost to Steph and yourself by 19 cups in Essex, even though you had fucked up your hand. Also, the 3rd place doesn't really count since there was maybe five teams there.

    I wish Good Luck to everyone, especially Jeff Barnes as I hope he finds success with a new partner. Hopefully he captures the Canton league as well as many other tournaments.
     

    Although at times this season having Adam as my partner was like picking Tom Brady in the first round of the fantasy football draft, we fought our way to a solid #2 state ranking, picking up some cash and trophies along the way.
     
    Adam and I will still play in states and the WSOBP together, unless he finds a way to break his arm in the next two months.
     
    In the meantime, with two weeks to go in the league, I have found a solid replacement for Adam and I think our chances are pretty good to win the fall league season title and tournament...

    Hopefully it will be a full recovery. It's a big bummer what happened. Hopefully the surgery is a success and the physical therapy goes great.

    i know how u feel im in physical therapy right now for a broken femur lol  got hit by a lifted suburban while i was on my four wheeler at some sand dunes here in MI

    Damn Adam that is some shitty news, sorry to hear it.
     
    I can't help but think the continued play with the injury might have compounded the need for surgery, but I hope you have a swift recovery.

  • that sucks man. but i actually thought i tore my rotator cuff back in february and had to be in a sling for about two months. it's not that hard to learn to throw lefty overhand, and now it's pretty funny at tourny's when a team is talking shit and just pop 'em lefty after shooting righty the whole game.

    As most people have said, that sucks and I wish you a speedy recovery.  That's good to hear that you you will be playing in states and the WSOB.  If anything, this gives you plenty of time to adjust your shot and remake a new one that should be just as good.  
     
    On a side note, Austin why don't you add a Disable List/Injured Reserve to MDbeerpong?  We could update the player status with like Probable, Questionable, etc.  Adam, sorry, but you'd most like be listed as O or Out as Yahoo has it.

    Well no offense to adam... but I have witnessed his left handed throw.
    It's one of the most ridiculous looking things you'll ever and I don't see it measuring up.
     
    He's probably better off switching to a different finger on his right hand.. like thumb and middle or thumb and ring or something

    I think most serious beer pong players should be listed as "questionable".
     
    Maybe if I have a bunch of free time over the holidays I'll just create a full blown fantasy system, but for now it's not going to happen.
