During the finals, it was basically Adam vs. Jamie, with neither partner providing much help.

Although i definitely didn't play to my potential, I would only hold your statement valid for OT.  Otherwise there was only a 3 cup missed shot differential between myself and Jamie the entire game.  If I remember correctly I missed 8 cups while Jamie missed 5.

    By my count:

Jamie: 5/10 in regulation, 7/9 in overtime, 12/19 overall (63%)
Aaron: 5/8 in regulation, 1/8 in overtime, 6/16 overall (38%)

Ryan: 5/9 in regulation, 2/7 in overtime, 7/16 overall (44%)
Adam: 5/8 in regulation, 7/7 in overtime, 12/15 overall (80%)

Hey guys, just curious what your thoughts are on changing the current MD Beer Pong rebuttal rules to reflect the WSOBP rules.

I used to be a big fan of the current rules because you always have a chance no matter how many cups back you are. But at the same time, it is becoming increasingly more easier to force overtime.

I think it would help bring a much more level playing field because the current rebuttal rules seem to benefit the best players and teams. I think it will also help better prepare us for the WSOBP because we will have more experience shooting rebuttals in this manner.

What do you guys think? I think Austin is planning on doing a poll but I wanted to see what you guys thought.

Also Jeff,  based on the way the poll is going,  I would like to be the 1st to thank you for single handily FUCKING UP MDBP!!   I also would like to say goodbye to 14ot games,  and all the excitement in MDBP.

How about Jeff versus Joey in a best of 13 series. Joey shoots both balls until he misses and Jeff shoots WSOBP style? Winner's rule sticks.

I won't need to shoot rebuttal shots!

Or he could always play Matt Morgan for the rule,  but we know how that would end too.

Or, maybe Montgomery County could play Carroll County.  Oh, wait, that already happened.

Joey, Austin was already planning on doing a poll before I wrote something. I just gave my opinion.

Also, at the time of this post, there have been 47 votes cast, with about ~27 people agreeing with me. I didn't even vote.

Please don't be mad. I'm giving you a big hug next time I see you! Kiss

    Some nice interesting stats.

Thanks for the support in the game Jeff. It definitely helps and I'm definitely used to it. Hahahaha Very we!

    It's Sean,

I would have liked to win the Spring Classic, but I'm not upset with how I've done.
The lowest I've placed so far this year is 2nd.

Rebuttal joking aside, I know if you guys are going to get knocked off the pedestal of yours, I'm going to have to do it myself. It's obvious nobody else here in MD is going to do it for me (besides darvick lol)

I'm not sure if that was a rip or a compliment, so I will treat it as neither.  We obviously don't see eye to eye on a lot of things and this is no exception.  Perhaps we're just wired differently but I would be furious if I finished 2nd .  I think you're the best shooter in the league, but Jamie and I are at a different place mentally than you, and everyone else in the league for that matter.  It's lonely at the top Sean, but I love my pedestal.

Furthermore - I am disgusted that Darvick stole, and then wore my championship yellow Polo...and actually won in it.  The only positive here, is that he might be the only person in the league that wont stretch it out. FML

I see the valid argument on both sides of this debate but I have to throw in my two cents...

Beer Pong is a team sport, bottomline.  It shouldn't be up to one player to decide the fate of a team.  With the current rebuttal rules if gives both players a chance but with the wsobp rules when 1 player is starting out, it doesn't give the other player a chance at all unless the first player hits the shot.  How is that a team effort?  Shouldn't both players have a chance to at least make some impact in how the fate of the game goes?  I like the one idea from the previous post of giving both players shots and then alternating after that....

What if both players get a rebuttal shot and then if they both hit, then they both get the balls back again but if only one player hits then they only get one ball back and the player who didn't hit the shot gets the rollback on that first and then they alternate with that one ball until one of them misses or they hit all the balls...This would keep the team dynamics of the game and still make it more difficult to bring it into overtime unless both players are on which in that case, they deserve to bring it into overtime anyways...

STM is more of a team effort then the WSOBP alternating rebuttle shots??? I think not.

Say you have 6 cups in rebuttle, player 1 hits 1 cup and then misses, player 2 hits the remaining 5.....how is that team effort, player 2 basically carried his partner into overtime.......however, if player 1 and 2 alternate shots and hit all 6, isn't that much more of a team effort?????
