    Post subject: MD 1-on-1

  • yesterday i competed in my second 1-on-1 tournament in MD......the first one in march, at Nobles, i won my first 2 games and then lost my next 2......this time i came in 6th. If you were there, i am Brian M (guy in red, from delaware).
     
    i've only competed in 2 MD tournaments, but both tournaments where ran nice with very good competition. i dont personally know any of the MD guys, but there were certain names that i knew ahead of time from bpong threads, youtube videos, and the "Tuesday Morning Bringback".......for example, my fourth game was against Jordan Macalister and i knew the name, knew he was good, and when I hit last cup with 4 cups remaing, i felt pretty good.......but sure enough he hit the first 3, missed 1, and then hit the last cup to send it into OT....where i went cold and lost by 1. Features ..........all and all, i had a good time and look forward to more 1-on-1's and hopefully i can find a partner so i can compete in more team tournaments.
     
    im a rookie when it comes to competing in tournaments, i need to find a stable partner so can compete more and more.....if anyone in MD needs a sub for a league night, a stand in partner for a tournament, or something let me know brianmc302@gmail.com

  • How often do these Singles Tournaments go on? I would make a trip up from NC if it was worth it...details on the two AC Qualifiers?

  • this is my first year competing in the 1-on-1 tournaments.....but i know that they had about 7 last year including a 1-on-1 state championship.

    We generally shoot for one a month if we can. A lot of the time they are on Thursday but we get in some weekend tourneys as well.  Sign up for the mailing list so you'll know  when we schedule the next one.

  • Don't forget we also have the free agent function on the website.  If you are looking for a partner just put yourself on the list.

    most of the tournaments don't have a huge payout.
    the last one had 32 teams at $15 a team.. so that is roughly $450 in the pot to distribute between 1st, 2nd, maybe 3rd and also the ppl running it

    I would, but I already gave my GF the "okay" for us to go to jersey for mothers day on Saturday (she works on Sunday).....However, I'm currently trying to back out (rather play beer pong then hang wit the in-laws LOL).
     
    If things change, I'll email u and see if u still need a partner.
