There is precident the other way as well, please read the story above.  Sean is correct if this were the other way around I would agree to replay but it's obvious to me that Joey is a poor sport and figured he would refuse the replay.   Joey if you want to back your way into championships your whole life more power to you but I think refusing us the replay (which is the fair thing to do) will cause you to lose the respect of many of your peers.

Just the fact that you refused to change tables after the conditions changed and the wind became a factor says a lot about you.  You knew that your bullet of a shot was better suited for those conditions so rather than play on a level playing field you elected to continue at the table.

Now you didn't even hit more cups in a game and you are claiming championship.  Maybe you should just practice harder so you can beat people fairly rather than depend on wind/mishaps to win torunaments for you.

Austin- I understand the decision and I wish I had caught the mistake but unfortunately I didn't.  I have no issues with you but the fact that our opponnents don't want to man up and earn their torunament victory says a lot about their character to me.

Joey enjoy you $200 and gold trophy but just know that you didn't earn it yet and without a rematch never will in my mind.  Replaying is the "right thing to do", but apparently you don't live by that motto.
You are right Mitch,  what was I thinking?  Apparently I can only win if I'm outside and its windy.

  • Personally, this kind of bickering from both sides makes everyone look like jackasses.  I just read this forum, and god, how many people can act holier than thou?  Seriously, it was screwed up, and yes, I don't think I will grant Joey and Shawn the ultimate right of saying they were 'Reisterstown' champions.  That being said, there is no way this can be replayed as a redo of the finals.  The conditions were such that Joey's shot dominated.  That is how it is, that is how it worked out.  While he might have lost if this mistake was caught, it wasn't caught, and he didn't lose.  Playing this finals in a closed atmosphere would not only have the 'finals' atmosphere taken away, it would remove the way the tournament won.  While I hated the wind factor, and it definitely affected my game, there is no way I could ask the tourney to be switched to inside.  All in all, this will make everyone a little bit wiser.  But seriously, stop acting holier than thou and making yourself look like fools.  Beerpong is fun, and I think all of us (maybe not Sean) had a good time on Saturday.  While I understand the money impact, I think the only possible cure for this would be a separate money game between Sean/Mitch and Shawn/Joey.  While this would need to be worked out between the two, it would be the only possible replay I could invision.  Still though, this would not be played to 'redo' the finals and Joey and Shawn would still be Full Moon winners.

It's funny how quickly you forget that my team Drunkenballers, finished 1st in the state last year.  Maybe I cheated all last year too.

Now whats done is done, joey and shawn were already declared the winner. theres nothing austin can realy do now. but with that said, there is something the other team could do. they could step up as real men and recongize that they didnt win fairly and agree to a rematch. I mean damn, where is the self-respect? you guys (joey and shawn) clearly didnt win. you did not remove a made cup......and then won by 1 cup......you can hide behind all the 'whats done is done, if we palyed again it wouldnt be the same conditions and intoxication, blah blah blah'......these are words of a coward.

in the rematch, foster and mitch would have to win two games and you guys would only have to win one......why so scared??!??

You don't know the first thing about me,  so don't assume you do!!

  • Before this thread turned into a total shit show I watched the video of the game and thought I noticed the front cup on the 6 rack was made and not removed.  I went back a few times and watched it and what I could not understand was the fact that foster obvious shot and made the cup and his partner Mitch was looking directly at the cup when it was made, and yet neither of them said a word about the cup being made....

Do you guys feel that some of the blame needs to be put on your own shoulders?

Also after Joey hits the back middle cup with the rebuttal shot you can see on the left hand side of the screen that Mitch grabs his drink and points towards the cups, which the first time I watched the video assumed he was going to say "hey we hit the front cup, can you remove it?" but instead tells them to fix the back 2 cups... LOL.

There was obviously a mistake that was not recognized.  I mean if foster had his eyes closed and Mitch had his back turned and foster somehow shot and made the front cup (somehow this wouldn't surprise me lol) and Joey and Shawn pulled the ball out and said no you missed than sure go ahead call them cheaters, cowards, question their integrity or whatever else people have been saying but saying that kinda shit with the current situation just makes you look like a douche imo.

Do I think there should be a replay? No, if the mistake was noticed directly after the game then sure go ahead and replay, but replaying it a week later?  How could you reenact that situation/environment?  The mistake was on each teams part.

Do I think something could be done to lighten up the situation?  Sure you guys are grown men not little girls.  Im sure there is a better way to resolve the situation opposed to calling people out over the forums.

Anyway that's just my 2 cents.

Well if you don't play for the money or the satisfication that you actually earned a victory then what do you play for?

    Can't really argue with that....

    Key point here though:

    *  Not taking any sides here but It's not up to Joey and Shawn on man'ing up to play... it's up to AUSTIN on what happens, and he has spoken.  Unfortunately for you guys, there is no higher authority to appeal to (which I would do if it was an available avenue).  *

I would be pretty upset if it happened to me, but I could only really blame myself for not noticing.  I would be more concerned of knowing everyone knew i let something like that slip instead of being concerned of being accused of cheating when i knew i really didn't.

Since we are doing football references.. How about the entire situation with the San Diego Chargers and Ed Hockules..  A mistake was made which enabled the opposing team to win.  An official apology was issued from the league and Ed, and although all the chargers fans cried about it the entire season, the game was not replayed.  It's the type of thing where there are no other options and people must accept what happened.

I don't think i have to go into details but I feel for you guys because I know how it feels to have something taken which you "think" is rightfully yours.  It's a tough pill to swallow.

This whole thing kind of reminds me of the 2 Kids From Hampstead controversey in the WSOBP.

No Quarter ended up having to replay the game they were supposed to play, even though they had already won. They ended up losing a game they already won.

    ugh  tell me about it!
