Promotional Beer Pong Tournaments
Promotional Single-Elimination beer pong tournaments currently running in Harford County and expanding into Baltimore County soon. Free entry, $100 cash prize, Drink Specials, DJ, a great time all around. Open to anyone 21+, email me for more details.
Were always looking to check out new venues, drop an email with some suggestions.
This is the CL posting, but I feel I can be a little less anonymous here. Right now were running tournaments at the Greene Turtle in Bel Air, and getting ready to start at Looneys right around the corner in BelAir. Were moving into Baltimore County and Cecil County next month. Im just asking for a little bit of help, maybe a little advice on where decent places to potentially set up tournaments, Not necessarily exposure but thats always nice haha.
Im Steve, phone number is 443-553-6529, but texting is best. Email is stevehuff2@gmail.com

I pointed you there since Maryland Beer Pong is pretty much the gold standard for beer pong around here and also one of the most organized league and tournament organizations in the world.
You're not going to get much interest from serious beer pong players for a single-elimination tournament, nor will you get much interest without a website or a detailed list of rules. $100 isn't really enough to get this crowd out, especially if it's 6 cups, single elim, elbow rules, etc. At least not the kind of crowd that regularly and pathetically visits a beer pong forum.
In addition, people are pretty loyal to mdbeerpong. I'm all for spreading the sport, having more tournaments, etc. but when random people start throwing tournaments and seeking out venues, if it's run improperly it turns off potental players and potential venues. I know Austin has had a difficult time getting into a lot of bars because they tried having a "tournament" and it left a bad taste in the mouth of the venue.
Not trying to be a dick, just telling you how it is and I am sure others will echo my sentiments.

The events Steve is talking about are not fully focused on beerpong tournaments though. Unlike MDBeerpong, these events include other stuff, like a notable DJ, great drink specials, free giveaways, liquor promotions, beer promotions, etc.
Currently, the events are run by us, Buckalou Promotions (buckalou.com ...big website coming soon). They include Bull on the Beach, Greene Turtle, Looneys Pub, Bayou Cafe, Smash Daddys, and several other places around central maryland beginning next month.
We will have the occasional huge tournament event with a large cash prize, but they will be few and far between. Our concern is setting up weekly "promo" nights with bars and clubs, most of which *feature* a beerpong tournament with a $100 cash prize, but do not solely rely on that novelty to bring people in.
I'd also like to point out that we are not here to compete with or compare to MDBeerpong. They run their tournaments in a pretty professional manner, ours are not necessarily "professional" because we want them to appeal to all types of pong players. Good ones, bad ones, and ones who just dont care. Thats why they are labeled as free. If we wanted to compete with MDBeerpong's reputation, I dont think we would get too far, because we have two completely different goals.

Also, the reason the tournaments are single-elimination is because we can typically only fit 4 tables in our venues, and with the number of teams signing up averaging 30, our start time of 10:45pm does not leave us enough time to run a double-elim tournament and be finished by closing time.
