    Post subject: Question About Nobles...

  • I was wondering what you guys generally do when buying your beer at Nobles for league play? As this was our first time at Nobles, we started a tab by the front door when we first came in. Then we walked over to the bar where the tables were at and started a tab there to get our drinks for the games. By the time we were upstairs playing games we had to go back downstairs to get beer, then run back upstairs.

Don't get me wrong...my fat ass can use all the exercise I can get. But I was wondering if you guys have a better way of figuring out which bar to set up shop at? I guess I could use cash, but I find my counting skills are significantly diminished by the end of the night. I wish I could have taken a math class at school that specialized in counting while intoxicated, but I figured I was too good to take Business Math classes...

Anyway, even with running around for drinks, our first league night was a good time. We definitely have a way to go when it comes to competing with some of the top teams and much further to go when it comes to talking shit during the game. Some of the things you guys come up with is out of control.

Also, I would like to thank God that there are other Giants fans in the league. Free Ahmad Bradshaw!

  • A lot of teams usually just get one pitcher of beer to recycle and then drink on the side, that way you never have to wait to start a new game because you're waiting for beer.

You'll find that most teams kind of pick an area to play around and just set up shop at that bar. Usually the front bar is the worst one to set up a tab at because there's only one table near there.

You'll find that the easiest competition is upstairs, and teams like Wet Ballz like to duck the good teams by setting up shop up there and padding their record. So it makes the most sense to set up your tab there if you'll be spending most of the time there.

Or, you can be like me and start a tab at each bar, which is what I did during the winter league tournament (my birthday) but you'll have a tough time getting in to work on Monday.
