  • I've talked with fraser from Not Even Close about playing together over the past year.
Yesterday we finally decided to team up in philly as team "Jedi Mind Trick"

We won an AC bid for June, but we're not playing there together.

Anyway, I decided to track my stats.
Something I haven't done for a complete tournament in years.

    Overall I played 10 tournament games and hit 55 / 81 for 68%
I showed up 40 minutes later than planned and had trouble finding my shot.

Over the last 5 games I made 30/39 shots for 77%
    So there you have it..

I didn't miss in the finals, but I know I can play much better than I did yesterday.
It took me too long to find my shot.

Here is a game by game breakdown of my shooting % of the 10 games:
    50   55   70   71   50   87   86   64   57   100

Afterward we played 2 games for fun where I hit 100 again, then 62
Totaled 70% over all 12 games for the day

it would be interesting to see these numbers over 10 or more tourneys...

Congrats on the victory! Looks like it would have been pretty tough to stop you guys.  Kinda glad I overslept haha.  Did you track Fraser's stats too?

I think most serious players can learn a lot from tracking their games.

Quick question.... little off topic but here goes. You said that you were late and it took a little time to "find your shot" - how long do you usually take to warm up?

My first MD league night we lost four games straight..... then won the next five or six.  Perhaps we should have played four games to warm up.....

    Maybe I'll start another thread.........

Thanks! Yes I did track fraser's stats as well.
He's had better days, but we still played well and shot in the 60's as a team.

I thought about posting his % too, but I had shot better that day and I didn't want to come off like an ass by posting his % as lowering than mine.

As for your other question about warming up .. it depends on the tournament.
If it's a huge tourney or a long drive sometimes I will do extra.

Generally 1-2 hours of warm up is a reliable time frame for finding my peak shot.

i agree with foster... i def like to warm up for an hour or so before a tournament starts.

of course the nights where i shoot 60-70% are very few and far between.  lol.  nice shooting though foster

  • I played with jordan from mcallister this weekend.

    We got 2nd place.
    He hit 73/118
    I hit 67/108

    We both made 62%
Not too sexy, but at least I kept myself in the 60s for now.

The first loss we had was 14 overtimes.
I made 25/44 shots, Jordan made 25/45 shots.

Game by Game Breakdown for Jordan:
    75  50  50  56  57    86  73  100  50

Game by Game Breakdown for Foster:
    67  40  86  57  100  57  79  80    33

What an embarrassing finals match. I hang my head in shame.
In regulation Jordan hit 4 and I hit 3, but I didn't hit anything in rebuttal.
Jordan made 2 rebuttals and we lost by 1..

fuckkkk.. At least I didn't go 0-2 like wet ballz. lol.
    Sorry jordan.
