  • This is Joey P, From the Drunkenballers,  my team finished #1 in the state of maryland last year.    Ok,  this post is not in any way to slam the WBPT,  but you guys had some of the dumbest people running the Porter's Dining Saloon Tournament I have ever met in my life.  I was told,  it was the staff from the Porter's Saloon and not ppl from WBPT.   We played in a WSOBPV qualifier 1 block away that started at 12pm.  After I played there,  finishing 5th,  I walk the couple hundred feet to the tourny that started at 3:05pm.   We were a little late,  but several people from our tourny had already walked down and told them,  a few teams would be running late.  When I arrived,  I told them we were there,  and they told me it was too late.  I told them we would take a 1st round loss,  and they still wouldn't let me play.  By the way,  I had already paid online.  I then proceeded to tell them that they should coordinate their start time with the 50+ team tournament that was going on down the street,  and also that they should advertise on MDBP if they are going to run a tourny in the area.  By the way,  this tourny had like 24 teams,  and they were playin on 6ft tables.   They looked at me, as if I was an idiot, and said " where would we advertise?"  I told them fucking bpong.com or mdbeerpong.com.  The "bouncer"  then asked me to leave, and I told him to "make me".  He then told his co-worker to call the cops.    As I was walking out,  since there was no need to escalate the situation from there,  one of the "bouncers decided to call me a criminal!  I answered by saying,  "what the fuck did you say to me?"  So he said it again.  I told him, " I will buy your parents and make them work for me"   On a side note,  I am 6'3" 240lbs and I'm black.  So,  for someone to call me a "criminal"  that doesn't know a thing about me,  really pisses me off.  The long and short of it is,  the staff over there is a bunch of fucking bitches,  and I also invited every one of them to come out front ,  not to mention the fact that I challenged all 5 of them to $500 1 on 1 games each.  No one took the offer.

I later found out that they allowed a team to play that arrived 15 minutes after I did.  This team rode down to the tournament with me,  so I know it is 100% fact.

  • Try playing in 1 of their Glens Falls tournaments run by the bar, that I get a text about 4 hrs before it starts, then have 9 teams so they make every round 2/3 on tables the size of ironing boards. I don't understand why they would put their name on these tourneys if they have nothing to do with running them. It really makes them look bad.

  • Joey,

Sorry about the bad experience you had trying to get into porters, this was a first tournament they have ever run so obviously things are going to be a little rough the first time around.

I see that you said your not trying to slam the WBPT at all, but why would the name of the thread specifically be World Beer Pong Tour?  because that  title specifically targets us as being responsible.

This was the bar hosting the event, it was an "affiliate qualifier" they were simply giving out the prize supplied by us, none of the WBPT staff were there running it or anything, if you have ever been to our events you would know that they are run very smooth, efficient and professional.

Nonetheless, for your troubles you can have a free entry at the next event we have in the area, whether it be at Porter's or not.
