  • Just wanted to remind the bpong community that live updates on the SCBP Open are available at socalbeerpong.com.  You can follow the display page we're using at the event (ignore the times a the top of the page - too late for me to fix it so that it works for people at home).

  • I promised that I would provide some updates from the BPONG perspective, so I'll just throw out a couple of quick observations.....

First off, this tournament has proven itself to be the player's championship. This is hands down the toughest competition I have ever seen at a large tournament. The 74 teams here represent the absolute best in the country, with only a few of the big names missing. Looking at the schedules of random teams is downright frightening with the level of talent teams are forced to compete against in the pool play. Suffice it to say, I am getting my ass handed to me.

Kudos to Peter, Tyler, and the rest of the SCBP staff for putting on one of the best tournaments I've ever seen. Also, may I advise you all to avoid the Denny's by Disneyland. Unfortunately, most of the people there seem to think that 5am constitutes the morning, and therefore have already slept....

  • someone needs to post videos from this tourney ASAP. Especially the video of Fraser losing to Smashing Time on a BS judges ruling that Fraser told me about.

Pop's shooting at last cup, and the ball apparently rimmed out, knocking the cup over, and this was counted as a cup after reviewing the replay? Everyone playing was at least calling for a re-shot, but the cup apparently counted. Not tryin to pass early judgement cuz I haven't seen the video yet myself but that F*CKING SUCKS!!!

  • You absolutely should not pass early judgment, because the video will be up soon, and the rules are quite clear on this:

"Balls Knocking Over Cups: Cups should be filled to the point where it is not possible to knock the cup over with the ball. However, in the event that a ball does knock a cup over, the shot is counted as a hit, UNLESS it is absolutely clear that the ball had not entered the cup before it was knocked over, in which case the cup is reset and the shot is considered a miss."

If you can watch the video and explain to me how the shot doesnt count, I would like to hear it.
