  • I just got put on a shift at work that I can't get out of so we won't be able to make it to the tourney...I don't get off work till about 6 wish we could make it sorry.

  • Silent Dam-O-nation takes it down (the other half of Silence this time)!  Make that 2 straight tourney wins for teams with that name, one in Huntington Beach and now this one.
     
    Also I know I might have said this once or twice before but NorCal is really looking like a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming season.

    It was too bad you guys couldn't make it because we needed a few more teams there.  As it was the word "tournament" is a little bit of a stretch b/c there were only 5 teams.  Despite that, the quality of competition was very high.  Only one team was below average WSOBP level I would say.  There was one up-and-coming player from San Jose who was surprisingly legit and almost beat me in a 1-on-1 cash game.
     
    Not surprisingly, it came down to us, Looney Bin, and Caboom in the end.  We beat Caboom in the semis 2-1 in a best of 3 and then played Looney Bin in the finals.  I think we won this 2-0 but the games were pretty epic.  One of the games went to double or triple OT and the other one went to single OT.  Both sides hit 2-3 cup rebuttals...in one OT Looney Bin tri-tipped us to start and then we came back and hit all 3 to send it to another OT.
     
    So yeah it wasn't much of a tourney overall but it was good to get some high-level competition in.
