  • Midwest Pong (aka Midwest Beer Pong Association) is the company that failed to put on the $10k tournament in Chicago November 21st and is not affiliated with Midwest Beer Pong from Saint Louis.

  • Yikes.  Sounds like a slight naming conflict.  Does Ziggy have plans to expand outside of St. Louis at all?

Yeah Ziggy was definitely there first with Midwest Beer Pong, which is a registered LLC. If anyone knows if there are any legal reasons why the other company can't use such a similar name, I'd like to hear.

As for expanding, he is throwing tournaments in Kansas City and will most likely also start tournaments in Chicago. I do love how Midwest Pong explains their $10k failure: "Due to circumstances out of our control, the "Best in the Midwest" $10,000 Main Event will no longer be held at Harrah's Joliet. Another Company (with a very similar name to ours) went behind our backs and signed a contract removing us from the venue for 5 years". They advertised the $10k at Harrah's way before Ziggy signed a deal with Harrah's - you would think that they would have had some sort of contract in place. But then again, most of their operation seems like a joke, so it's not that surprising.

I'm not sure if this comment is directed at me or Ziggy, but anyway I personally have nothing to do with Midwest Beer Pong. As a player you should be happy with potentially more tourneys, especially if the prizes end up being the same as Kansas City (Bids to WS + Flight).

  • Lol your right vince I wouldnt be to happy.  I have a tentative schedule for next year which is a satty almost every other weekend so close to 26 tournaments so I dont think we need to much more. But if he wishes to drive 6 hours to run a tournament he can go for it.
