  • Not sure if this was already discussed on here or not, but I've heard from a few people that there were 7-4 teams paying other teams $100 or more to lose on purpose to get into the final day? If this is true, it's pretty pathetic. It's also things like this that will prevent WSOBP from really becoming a major sports event.

  • Ever hear of the Chicago Black Sox? The players involved in taking money to throw the series were banned from professional baseball forever. Seems like a reasonable consequence. It likely stopped all future players from this kind of shit.

  • It is pathetic, and is something that will be *very* illegal if there is ever legalized gambling on Beer Pong.
     
    It will also be a gross violation of the rules and the entrance agreement for next year, with punishment including a lifetime ban from the WSOBP.
     
    It's also stupid, for reasons I won't go into....

    I understand where you are coming from. I heard one of the teams on the bubble cried after they lost and begged a team to change the scorecard. That is pretty sad.
     
    This is always going to be an issue in the World Series because there are going to be a bunch of teams that are 6-5 and worse that have nothing to play for, except pride.
     
    This happens in major sports as well. Is it fair that there are 2 NFL teams fighting for a playoff spot and one of the opponents is 2-13 and the other is trying to win a division themselves? I'm not sure if there is a way to fix the problem. If a WS team is 3-8....what is the point of winning the last game, especially if you are going to screw over a friend.

  • I should add that I have a lot of pride, and regardless of my record, could never see myself throwing a game. Although I don't ever see myself being 3-8 or so on, I could never lose on purpose. I hate losing too much. Plus, I would love playing a team that is on the bubble and ruining their chances at making the last day! It is unfortunate that everyone does not feel the same way.

  • I didn't even know this was going on there.  But fuck that, I would also love to wreck someones chances at the last day lol.  
     
    But really, that is quite pathetic.  Take your loss and go home and practice...

  • we sure as fuck didnt get any of that.  the two teams we lost to were 2-3 and 2-5.  haha

  • The last game of day 2 our opponents needed to win to make day 3. We beat them by 9. To their credit, they never said shit or complained about it. That helped our differential a lot. Haha.

  • ive mad it to the 3rd day all 3 years ive been on cup diff. every year so after our last game my butt hole clinched nice n tight until i hear what record gets you in haha
