  • First off, can I trust that this list is accurate
    http://www.bpong.com/events/view/2009-b … llite-stop

Im not tryin to say yall dont have your shit together or anything, but I just saw this post and got a little confused.

Another question. If you win a satellite, do you win entrance to the WSOBP V, and a room at the hotel? Or would you still have to pay for your room? If each one is different, then I mainly just want to know about the N.C. ones. I live in VA so ill be lucky to even make it to one of them.

Also, how are the satellite tourneys structured? Do they just make one big bracket from the start. Or is it like just like the WSOBP.

And roughly how many teams are usually at the satellite tourneys.

Sorry for so many questions, but I just now found this site and im like a kid in a candy store. I knew beer pong was gettin popular, but not this damn popular. Yes im from a small ass town and live a sheltered life lol.

lol. well, the first link you posted was for satellites held by bpong.com and the bpong tour. the guys running satellites in fresno (2nd link) is all-american beer pong. all over the country people are holding satellite tourneys for the world series in january.

you should definitely head out to the closest satellite to you. you'll have a good time. most of the local satellites (san diego) get anywhere from 24-40 teams. the closer the tourneys get to the end of the year, the more people usually show up.

the LA Bpong tour tourney was structured as 1 big bracket to begin with, and a losers bracket alongside it.  if you win it (or any other satellite), you and your partner gain entrance to the world series AND you get a room at the Flamingo for 4 nights. the world series is by far the most fun i've ever had in vegas, and possibly in my life. you definitely don't want to miss out on it this january.

that said, the cheapest way to get there is by winning a satellite. i suggest you check out the bpong.com store ( http://www.bpong.com/store) and buy a table, cups and balls to practice with. if you win more than 1 satellite you can sell the extra 1 (going for roughly $450 right now but valued at $600) so the table, cups and balls will literally pay for themselves after a couple wins.

    goodluck at those tourneys.

  • Ahhh, hells yea. Thanks for the fast response dude. Every single answer you gave me was prolly the best possible answer lol. As far as the table goes, im plannin on building my own table and want to make it the exact same dimensions as the official table.

Ive been to vegas once, and it was the most fun ive ever had. So combining beer pong, and vegas, sounds like the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Kinda funny findin this site cuz just the other nite me and 2 friends were playn pong. We decided we were gona start an official beer pong league and get rich lol. Talked about it all night and had all kinds of crazy ideas. Looks like we were just a liiitle late lol.

A table you make on your own will not be the same as a bpong one. They bounce different than most materials used to make your own and when competing for $65K, you want to be as familiar as possible with the equipment. Nearly all of the serious players will ONLY play with bpong tables, cups, and balls...something to think about.

Also, do not compliment Castro further...dude has enough ego already.
    Haha...love you Eric!!

  • Yea but according to the official rules bounces only count as one cup anyway, right? So really what would be the point of bouncing. I can understand only practicing with the official cups and balls though.

It's just different. Not sure how to explain it. But it's better to have something than nothing so make that table. It's 8'x2'ft and 27.5" high. Definitely get the same cups and balls. Maybe one day you'll have an ego as big as mine. O_o

I don't remember ever playing you in a tourney except for the singles tourney at Players Lounge, best 2/3 in which I beat you both games. Very we!

  • Well I gotta say ive alreay got quite an ego when I start playin pong lol. But I just bought 2 4' x 20" x 28" tables. So the 2 of them put together is pretty close to the official table. And if anything it should be a little harder so I see that as a good thing. I just ordered cups and balls from this site.

Me and my partner had our 1st official practice the other nite lol. I won 15 games and he won 12 (against each other). And I really like this leaning over the table as far is you want rule!

There is a Satellite Tourney in Charlotte, NC on Monday Nov. 16th at Dixie's Tavern. I know you are up in VA but it would be worth the drive...
