Once a ball hits an object not in play on the table (water cup, empty cup, etc) can the ball be swatted, grabbed, etc?

  • I'm still not sure is "a cup" any cup or a cup "in play"...

  • To Clarify, a ball may be swatted after making contact with any object other than the table (including both live cups and cups not in play). The only exception to this is when a ball is in the cup (i.e., no fingering).
