    How about for the 3rd shot the ball is literally  set on fire and the person has to shoot blindfolded?

    Then i guess it would really be the guy with the hot hand shooting??Shock

    Like someone said before, they tried doing the alternate third shot back at WS2, and it didn't work. Mike and I did it all 3 days and meanwhile, half the teams were just having the same dude shoot the third shot every time. The idea of maxing out a turn at 3 cups is great and definitely evens the playing field quite enough.
     
    As far as this idea making it more team orientated, lets not forget that to even get that third shot, your partner has to hit also. And also, I'd imagine there's only a small handful of teams where one guy would ALWAYS take that third shot. There's always someone with that hot hand, so I'd imagine it would change from game to game anyway. I know it does with us.

    I agree with you Kessler but it is also a TEAM game and players like yourself that shoot the 3rd ball every time somewhat eliminates the team concept.  I like the rotating shots but if Austin said that was done and failled then not sure.

    I dont see how that makes it unfair. Kessler makes cups. If he, or whoever else for that matter, shoots 95% on 3rd shots, they are going to keep shooting that shot unless they falter a little. What do you do about it? Practice, get your weight up, and get up on his level so you can match him.
     
    The Yankees have plenty of pitchers on their team, yet CC Sabathia seems to be pitching almost every game in this World Series. Hardly seems like they are following a team concept. There is an advantage so having someone like that, Kessler, Pop, Deep, whomever on your team. That is one of them.

    Nick I know when we played at Rax I did shoot the third ball every time however that was because I was on..... By tournamnents end DEEP caught fire and I willingly passed the third ball.
    Overall in the 2 tournaments I played with him its has been verry close and even in cups hit.

  • well i obviously hate the original idea of the thread with picking the person. bc that is a huge disadvantage to me. and good players wont wana pay $ and fly to vegas to watch there partner hold there fate of the tourny alone. from what i get from the ws rules and the way its set up is less controversy and complications. with this idea u have to pay attn to who shot last if its alternating. or decide who u want to shoot. and mixing that with drunk ppl just causes arguements and more work for them to clean up. thats why it wont happen. i think they r putting finishing touches on there rules either this year or next and itll probably be set in stone from then on.

    I love this idea so much that I logged on for the first time in months to backup an idea that Foster posted. You guys seem to like the whole 'team game' idea (obviously, as it is a team game). This should be making you spackle your pants. Go get a paper towel you messy bastards...
