  • If you know people will lose 100% you shouldn't be inviting them with a fake honesty and snickering about it later about how you got people to get there and then you waited for your friends to show up to win.  That is dishonest.

The person who won the tourney was there at 2. the people who came after 2 did not win the tourney. Sorry if the 25 bucks was that important to you that it has you hurting 6 days later looking for retribution but you're entire argument is completely sad in my opinion. You lost, get over it. You're not going to be able to change anything, and just think of it this way, if by some freak of nature you happened to win the tourney and it started at 2, you wouldve had to pay 400 bucks for a roundtrip flight to vegas just so you can go out there and lose after day 1, so if anything, you owe me 400 bucks. Want to meetup with me at 2? but more like 4:30??

  • OMG pongstars.net how are you still arguing? ive NEVER been to a satellite that starts on time.  The person running it did a legit thing buying the bids beforehand so he/she needs to make sure that is covered by waiting for stragglers. why don't you respect that? no one has to run these satellites, most people run these tourneys at a loss.  If you want a chance to win a bid id reccommend traveling. Now you know the NYC area is a pongopoly, and that tourneys NEVER start on time, use this knowledge to become a pongstar

  • A 2pm tourney starting at 4:30 is actually somewhat early.

Mike Pop wins 90% (if not more) of the tournaments that he plays in. So I guess that means any tournament that he plays in is a dishonest tournament, and anyone who's ever bought into these tournaments deserve their money back because they weren't run honestly. Pop, start paying up, you must owe me at least 1000 by now

  • You make a lot of really good points Pongstar. Any tourney where a shitty person can't win is most likely rigged. Everyone should have the same chance of winning regardless of skill. I vote that future tournaments don't even happen but instead everyone who shows up (on time) will put their names in a hat and the organizer will pull a random team from the hat and they will be the winner of the tournament and get a free bid to the WSOBP. It's ridiculous to even play the games since there's a difference in skill level. Totally unfair.

We probably shouldn't even call the team that wins "the winners" since that's pretty derogatory to the other teams. People don't show up on time to not be called "winners". We're all winners in my book.

In fact, it's pretty rude to have a satellite without providing a free trip to vegas for every team that participates.

This tournament sounds like it was terribly run. Thank you for having the courage to speak up, Pongstar.

While we're at it, i'll throw out the suggestion that any team that has ever made the 3rd day of the WSOBP should be banned from returning to the World Series as well as any satellite.

  • The point of talking about a rigged game is to get bizness to admit that we had a chance to win... he can't admit that though, because if he did, he would also have to admit that if we started earlier i would have had a better chance of winning, therefore conceding his entire argument.

  • The point of prolonging the argument was to point out the disrespect of the entire process.  From advertising publically knowing full well that newbies would lose, to telling people to be there on time when the tournament started late, to not compensating at all those who got there on time.  And it is just due to arrogance, but that is ok.  At least we are clear as to why and what actually happened.   Have a good one and good luck in the wsobp.
